Rene A. Louapre, III, M.D.

Dr. Rene A. Louapre, III, a native of New Orleans, is a graduate of Loyola University of the South and obtained his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans in 1973. Dr. Louapre completed a residency in internal medicine at Charity Hospital and the Louisiana State University School Medical Center in 1976, and has been in the private practice of general internal medicine for over 30 years in the uptown New Orleans area. Dr. Louapre is on the medical staff of both Ochsner Baptist Hospital and Touro Infirmary. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

As a specialist in internal medicine and as a primary care physician to adult patients, Dr. Louapre has developed an expertise in a wide range of medical conditions, including the diagnosis and medical management of both acute and chronic medical conditions. Dr. Louapre also has a special interest in the preventative health evaluation of patients as well as in the performing of minor skin procedures.

Dr. Louapre is a past president of the Orleans Parish Medical Society as well as the New Orleans Academy of Internal Medicine. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Medical Society and the American Medical Association. Dr. Louapre’s interests, outside of medicine, include sailing and computers – particularly with an emphasis on electronic medical record systems (EMR) and their application in the practice of medicine. Dr. Louapre has been a lecturer on the use of EMR technology in the medical office.

John J. Kokemor, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. John Kokemor,  a native New Orleanian, graduated from the University of Louisiana State Medical Center in 1976. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1979. Dr. Kokemor is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has been practicing at Drs. Louapre, Kokemor, Sarrat & Braedt, LLC from 1997 and in uptown since 1979.

Dr. Kokemor is a member of the American Medical Association, the Orleans Parish Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical Society, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He is also an active staff member at Touro Infirmary and Ochsner Baptist Hospital. At Ochsner Baptist, he is chairman of the Department of Medicine and serves on the Medical Staff Executive Board Committee and the Hospital Governing Board. Preventive care, including risk identification and reductions, is Dr. Kokemor’s primary approach. This includes achievement of clinical guidelines for hypertension, diabetes and elevated cholesterol. He seeks the strategic use of medications and patient cooperation via diet, exercise, weight loss and follow-up care.

Stephanie L. Sarrat, M.D.

Dr. Stephanie Sarrat, a native New Orleanian, graduated with a BS in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is also a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Sarrat completed her residency in internal medicine. Dr. Sarrat is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has been practicing at Drs. Louapre, Kokemor, Sarrat & Braedt, LLC in New Orleans since 2000.

As a specialist in internal medicine, and as a primary care physician to adult patients, Dr. Sarrat has developed an expertise in a wide range of medical conditions. She currently examines patients for routine exams, annual physicals and pre-op exams. In addition to general adult medicine, Dr. Sarrat also provides women's health services. 

An active member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Physicians and the American Society of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sarrat practices at Drs. Louapre, Kokemor, Sarrat & Braedt, LLC with extensive experience in primary care.  

Gary B. Braedt, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Gary Braedt came into medicine through a more circuitous route than many. He earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington, and then went on to earn a Ph.D. at Indiana University in Molecular Biology. Dr. Braedt taught at the University of New Orleans as an assistant professor of Biological Sciences until 1995. He spent a number of satisfying years working on the mysteries of life at the molecular level. Dr. Braedt then became interested in the science of medicine, and attended the Louisiana State University of Medicine, obtaining his medical degree in May of 2000. Dr. Braedt completed his residency in internal medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in June 2003. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been practicing at Drs. Louapre, Kokemor, Sarrat & Braedt, LLC since September of 2003.

Dr. Braedt is a valued member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society and the American College of Physicians. He is also an active staff member of both Touro Infirmary and Ochsner Baptist Hospital.

Dr. Braedt provides general adult medicine for both new and established patients, to include routine exams, pre-op exams, and annual physicals.
